Since 2010, Onnit has been leading the health and wellness industry in designing thoughtful, high-quality, and efficacious multifunctional stacked supplements. Onnit’s lifestyle products address customers’ various supplement, functional nutrition, fitness, mental, and emotional wellness needs. With over one million visitors per month, Onnit’s website is a top destination for motivational, informational, and inspirational health and wellness lifestyle digital content. Onnit products can be found in stores across the country, as well as online retailers including Whole Foods Market, Amazon, CVS, Sprouts, Vitamin Shoppe, and many more.

I was part of the team that built the brand into a powerhouse with sales revenue totaling $23 million yearly.

Onnit was recently acquired by Unilever in a $200M deal.

My role

My career track at Onnit began with marketing design, creating digital ads, print ads, exhibition displays, retail displays, apparel, and other marketing collateral. When the company decided to expand their supplement line, the CEO, Aubrey Marcus, assigned me with creating and designing the visual design language for the entire new supplement line.

I fully immersed myself in packaging design, able to bridge the gap between tangible three-dimensional objects (Industrial Design) and communication and messaging (Graphic Design). By being a key player in the product development process from conceptualization, to creating iterations, to refinement, to production, I was able to expand my skillset and end up producing dozens of packaging and label designs for a company I dreamed about working for as a student.

Onnit is a health & wellness company dedicated to inspiring peak performance through bleeding edge science & earth grown nutrients.

Onnit partnered with Black Rifle Coffee for the release of F Yeah! Coffee, a medium roast, highly caffeinated coffee. I was tasked with coming up with the branding and packaging for the new product and certainly had fun with it.

Onnit x Tanka Bar

The Onnit Elk Bar was created in partnership with Native American Natural Foods, makers of the original Tanka Bar. The bar is a variation on a traditional recipe used by the warriors of the Lakota Sioux tribe. It’s still my favorite Onnit food product to this day.

I designed the packaging, directed the photography, and created the product page.

Onnit Social

Juke is a co-experience platform that aims to enrich live music for the artist, the audience, and the venue. Our assumption was that providing an intuitive and accessible channel of communication would allow passive live events to transform into fully-integrated, interactive experiences. This would ultimately bridge the gap between the artist and the listener.

Extracurricular

When Onnit called on me to jump in front of the camera as Pete, the overworked Onnit delivery man for the Onnit Black Friday Sale campaign, I answered the call. My talents were so well-received by the Onnit community, including Joe Rogan, the role of Pete was extended into the campaign for the Onnit Semi-Annual Sale.

They say fame can change a man. I didn’t choose to become a UPS model or a household name, but this package always delivers.
